Memorable Experience

Thank you for a great stay. I was a memorable experience. A sister/daughter in law who has cancer and not doing well soon to pass away was able to come visit with LeRoy for the last time in the ancestral home. We visited and laughed and reminisced about family and the good times we have had. This is one for our journals that's for sure. Thanks again.

Clean, well appointed and furnished.

Clean, well appointed and furnished. Homey atmosphere. Exceptional details. Central to all activities in the St George area. You will love the updated work they have done to a charming pioneer home!! 5 star experience. We will definitely come again and recommend it to anyone. We had 6 adult couples with complete privacy and comfortable gathering space. Kitchen was just like home. The women were loving the feel of history and architecture and fun decorating. The guys were marveling at the structure remodel. The convenience factor was amazing..hiking, eating, historical sites. The house was the welcome hub to our family getaway. Rosanna was completely accommodating!!

A Perfect Rental

There are no superlatives that can adequately describe how wonderful this property is. We were in St. George for 4 days to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday and needed a house that could comfortably accommodate 4 generations of family members (15 people from 65 years to 15 months) plus 60 guests for the party itself. This property fit the bill perfectly. Whitehead Home is an enchanting mix of old world charm and updated amenities. All of the bedrooms are huge and the accompanying baths are very modern. The entire property was spotless. The central family room/kitchen/dining area was the perfect gathering place for family and easily hosted all party guests. The home includes ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you would need, from a fully-stocked kitchen to baby essentials (high chair, crib, stroller, toys for various ages, etc.), a large and airy outdoor dining area to high-end toiletries. The location is also ideal in a quiet, historic neighborhood close to the restaurants and galleries of downtown, yet near some terrific trailheads for the more athletically-minded. And Rosana was the ultimate host, personally providing us with lots of helpful information about the house and activities going on in St. George during our stay. I've been renting vacation homes for 10 years and have to say that Whitehead Home was the best rental experience we have ever had!

Ideal Location and Property

Our family of 16 stayed in the Whitehead Home over a long weekend. The home was absolutely impeccable with the owner having obviously spent a great deal of effort to restore and decorate the beautiful home. The separate sleeping spaces with separate baths provided a perfect retreat for our family. We were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. My 9 yo nephew absolutely loved the reading nook and the many activities within walking distance. We went to the children's museum and lazy river twice during our 5 day stay. The homeowner took great care to make sure we had everything needed for our stay, and we especially appreciated the open kitchen and large dining spaces outdoors and indoors. The beautiful home was an ideal location for us all to spend valuable family time together. Should we find ourselves looking for another home for our family, I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. The couple times I needed to reach out to Rosana, she was very responsive. A resounding 32 thumbs up from the 16 of us.

4th Year At Whitehead Home.

This was the 4th year we have stayed at the Whitehead Home. That should say it all!!! Rosana is wonderful to work with and very attentive. The home is clean, well furnished and easily accommodated our group of 15. The kitchen is fully stocked and made meal prep easy. With the beautiful kitchen and the large dining room table that accommodated our large group, we enjoyed most of our meals in.

We have enjoyed plays at Tuacahn, hikes in Snow Canyon and Zion's Canyon as well as the local historical sites. There are plenty of places for shopping and a grocery store is about one mile away. There is plenty to do if you want to get out and the home is comfortable and cozy if you want to stay in.

Staying at the Whitehead Home has become a tradition. Would highly recommend it for your group.

You can't beat the location and Rosanna is very accommodating. We return year after year with plans for the future to continue to do so.

So much room and so much fun!

Stayed there with my children and grandchildren. Each family had their own room and bathroom. The children's nook was such a success! The kitchen is so well stocked and labeled- wish mine at home had all these items. Rosana was very responsive with my questions- most of which were already answered in the guest instruction book. Our family would love to stay there again if we find ourselves in St. George together again!

Beautiful Home!

Just returned home from annual family reunion at this lovely home in St. George, Utah. The family consisted of 14 adults + 2 children, ranging in age from 4 yrs old to 82 yrs old. This house provided everything we needed, including beds/bathrooms for everyone plus some! The kitchen was huge, with everything we needed to cook 3 meals each day for the group, a large dining room and table to seat our entire group, and several large gathering rooms (family room, den, etc) as well as outdoor patio (with large table and12 chairs) to allow for socializing. The kids nook was a awesome extra for the kids, too! Owner Rosana was a joy to deal with, very communicative and accommodating in every way possible. Location was fantastic, with several great restaurants nearby, as well as bowling, laser tag, and indoor mini golf within walking distance and many other activities within15 minutes drive. This house was perfect for our large group and we will definitely stay here again next time we are in St. George.

The Whitehead Home is the best AirBnB experience I've ever had.

The Whitehead Home is the best AirBnB experience I've ever had. We stayed in this home with my entire family (20 people) and there was ample space. The unique layout of the home made the rooms very quiet - unusual considering the number of people staying together. The dining areas and living areas are the perfect size. The Sorensens were amazing hosts: excellent communication, provided tips (we needed a photographer and she texted me a list of options within minutes), and completely responsive by text the entire stay. The Whitehead Home was the most well-appointed vacation home I've ever been in. The kitchen is a fully stocked, well functioning kitchen. Anything you could think of to need in a home, they have it available and easily located/accessible. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere and seldom used the car. The amenities for children were unparalleled. There is a small children's nook under the stairs that was the piece de resistance in this home - entertained the little ones for hours. I can't recommend this place enough!

WPHS Ladycats volleyball team

We stayed here for 3 nights for a High School Volleyball camp and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place. The girls loved having the whole house as a home base and being able to spread out throughout all the rooms was awesome. They also deemed it the best hide and seek house in the world haha. Everything was clean, organized and well communicated by Rosana who also answered any questions we had during our stay. I would suggest the Whitehead Home to any group, family or sports team that is staying in St. George. Thank you to Rosana from all the girls on the WPHS Ladycats volleyball team, we had an amazing stay full of great memories and we look forward to staying again next year!!

Great Place For Big Groups

We had 14 adults and one child and had plenty of room to spread out. Nice big kitchen, living room, and dining room, plus a variety of bedroom options to choose from. My wife is a wheelchair user and found getting around on the main floor to be a breeze. Nice ramp to get in the front door and an accessible bathroom in our bedroom downstairs. One little quirk is the series of thermostats throughout the house. The one in our main floor bedroom also controlled the temp of room above us. The first two nights that upstairs bedroom was a bit on the chilly side, but we found that by keeping the door to the downstairs bedroom closed the upstairs room was much more comfortable. The house is within easy walking distance of downtown with several good dining options. Rosana was very easy and accommodating to work with. It was a great experience and we hope to visit again!

Colorado Hikers Love St. George Area

Arriving at Whitehead Home was our first pleasing experience. We entered and started to explore all the rooms, stuff the kitchen with snacks and eats. The games were lined up under the TV, never turned on. We were ready for our adventures. We explored Snow Canyon, Valley of Fire, Yant flats, Candy Cliffs and Red Cliff reserve during the day. In the evening, going through pictures and cooking dinner with games to follow. The house was fantastic for the 10 adults. Plenty of room for all. We even had enough dishes and uyensils to use to feed the gang. Most times they say can sleep a certain number only to find that places can't feed that number. Communivation with yhe owners was great. We will be back next year to continue our adventures.

ABOUT AS GOOD AS IT GETS !

Our experience was outstanding! We have rented [vacation homes] for we think over 25 years. Also have rented large "family" houses like this 6-8 times included in this time period. Rosana and the Whitehead House are in our top 3 for sure. This rental was for our family attending a wedding in St. George. About 18 family members stayed in the house. Much attention to detail everywhere: all pre arrival paperwork and responsiveness was thorough and clear; on arrival, house was clean as expected; another xlnt point, every cabinet, shelf, TV, remotes, thermostats, bathrooms all labelled and explained. In short she thought of just about everything and it showed. Even provided a personalized code to unlock the front door on arrival. Note though, that this is a very old house, but that is part of it's charm and everything has been done to make it as up to date and usable as is possible. We would rent this house and from Rosana in a heartbeat. We unfortunately cannot say that about every owner we have dealt with.

This House and Stay was simply AWESOME!

Our family recently stayed at the Historic Saint George Home for Thanksgiving. It was our first ever Hansen Family Reunion. Not being 'pro's at this sort of thing; we were a little apprehensive. My first glimpse driving up; produced a sigh of relief, and walking into the entryway, and seeing in; I knew we'd chosen well. Our six grown-up children and their families arrived from Atlanta, Texas, Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. Being Thanksgiving, we brought a ton of food. There were comfortable rooms and suites with bathrooms for each little family to conduct their own business. The 'Children's Nook' off the kitchen area was amazing! The little ones absolutely loved this and spent hours playing contentedly. Cousins who scarcely knew each other had a marvelous time playing and becoming family. I give credit to the success of this family gathering to the warmth and accommodations of this wonderful home away from home. We are thankful to have found it. I would add that although the home was charmingly old; the facilities, appliances, and fixtures.... were updated and new. And thank you to the Sorensens for the welcoming bouquet of flowers, their friendliness and willingness to answer any question! All of us would happily recommend this home to our friends.

Perfect Experience

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience than we had during our recent stay at the Whitehead Home! We wanted to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday in a special way and decided that this charming historic home would be an ideal setting to house the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and then hold a birthday party for extended family and friends. From booking to pre-arrival, check-in to check-out, the owners were exceptionally organized, professional, accommodating and kind! (As the ultimate sign of classiness, a stunning floral arrangement was sent to my dad by the owners in honor of his big day!)

Having reserved numerous homes over the past several years, we have never seen a finer property. The house is gorgeous, with premier furnishings and exceptional attention to detail. I enthusiastically recommend the Whitehead Home for any stay or event you'll be having in St George! You won't be disappointed! I know that my family is already looking forward to our next visit there.

Good for Group of Families

We had seven small families stay here and everyone had a great time and commented on how they felt there were plenty of room to accommodate the large group. We had quite a few little kids and the house was all set up to accommodate us, kids toys, pack 'n' plays, etc. It was also just a few blocks from the children's museum. One thing to be aware of with little kids is the elevated kitchen area. The kitchen has a new tile floor which is easy to clean, but it is elevated about an inch and a half from the rest of the wood floor in the house and the two year olds each took turns tripping on it--no more than a few tears were produced from this situation. But it is something to be aware of if you have little ones so they don't go running down the hall on arrival only to take a spill on the tile when they get to the kitchen. Most seem to figure it out by the end of the weekend. We'd definitely stay here again. Perfect place to accommodate a large group of families with all of the separate bedrooms and bathrooms.

Elegance Revisited

It would seem the general consensus of St. George is winter golf, box houses and rampant condominiums seasoned with a heavy dash of the homogeneous business loop commercial street architecture seen in Anytown USA. Located in the mature tree shaded Historic District of the town the Whitehead House is not only the antithesis but a remarkable testament to renovation, preservation and a genuine love of history and family. Occupying a corner lot a stone's throw from Bringham Young's late 19th century Winter Home the Whitehead property is expansive, yet welcoming and offers and oasis in so many ways. Many of the original features remain and provide an elegant canvas for the modern comforts of a chef's kitchen, connectivity and climate control. The house not only accommodates large groups but offers parents and children alike privacy, space and a sense of genuine comfort. I've stayed in many rented properties in America and Europe and this is one of the very best. I cant imagine anyone not falling immediately and completely in love with the house and seeing St. George with a fresh set of eyes.

Amazing Location and Great Home!!!

We really enjoyed this house! It had the room we needed and plenty of bathrooms. It was a great price and was the best stocked kitchen we have ever rented! We did have a few hiccups but they were promptly taken care of!!! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in St. George.

Enjoyed Our Stay

We really enjoyed staying in this wonderful house for a family reunion in St. George. It has plenty of room for a large family and lots of kids and grandkids. It's a very clean house with a great kitchen and all the utensils and cooking items you need to cook meals for a large group of people. We appreciate all the attention you pay to details throughout the house. It's very conveniently located in a wonderful neighborhood. We have stayed in this house more than once and plan to continue coming back many more times. It's less than an hour away to Zions national Park for anyone who likes to enjoy nature. This is an ideal spot for large family gatherings in southern Utah. We had a great stay in your house.

Excellent!

This property was perfect for our vacation. My five sisters and mom and dad rented this house for an 80th birthday celebration. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own room and bathroom and great places for sitting and visiting. It was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely go again!

Great Place To Stay

Was in town for a trade show at the convention center. This was 10 minutes away and a great alternative to a hotel. 7 of us stayed each in our own room. Great host. Great communication. Great home. Will stay again if in St George.

All This and Handicapped Accessible Too!

Our large family of adults and a couple toddlers had a marvelous Christmas week here. It is so hard to find vacation rentals that are wheelchair (not just "handicapped") accessible, with roll-in shower, wider doorways, and enough turning radius in the bedroom, bathroom, and all main living areas. So because this house has that, I'm leading with it; truly a blessing to our family. But on top of that, we all were able to be comfortable here, because there are enough bedrooms for adult children with their spouses and babies, and we never felt cramped or on top of each other. In addition, there is enough communal living space when you all want to be together, including a large dining room table at which we all could sit for meals or game playing. The house is so charming; you feel welcomed from the very beginning in the generous entry hall with a bench to drop your bundles and stow your shoes. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals (the only thing I missed was my Kitchenaid mixer, but hey...:)). There are toys and accoutrements for the toddlers, so we don't have to pack and carry our own. If it had been summer, I know we would have used the patio and grill outside. The Sorensons were great hosts, immediately responsive to a couple questions we had while there, though we were probably interrupting their Christmas and family time. They even had a Christmas tree put up with ornaments that were baby friendly (yay!) and lights. (Thank you!) Another plus: this house is close to downtown and we took several walks to local businesses. And St. George is small enough that you can drive anywhere in a couple minutes--such a change for those of us used to big-city traffic. All in all, this was a fantastic house for us, and we're so glad we found it!

Best Place for Family Reunion

We used the house for our family reunion (12 people). It was the best place for this - a very inviting historic home, in walking distance to shops and restaurants. We will be back!

The Whitehead House is absolutely perfect!

As an extended family we have rented numerous houses and this, by far, was our favorite. The house was beautifully furnished. The kitchen was well accommodated for our Thanksgiving Feast. The bedrooms were comfortable and the abundance of bathrooms were clean and well stocked. We loved having our own bathrooms and plenty of space to play games and spend time together. I cannot say enough good about our experience. You will not be disappointed. I can't say enough thank yous!

Wonderful Week End in St George

We have stayed at the Whitehead House 3 times now. The house is always clean and well stocked with all the necessary items. Our family likes the layout where each family has their own bathroom and private space. Roseana is so good to work with. She always make sure you have everything you need before you arrive. We plan on using the house again next year. We call the Whitehead House our St George home away from home.

Fabulous! Great location in St. George, quiet neighborhood roomy, clean, well stocked kitchen

We went for a adult sibling week-end reunion, uniting families from Nevada, Texas, and several parts of Utah. The Whitehead House was great! The owner was easy to communicate with and everything was as they said it would be. It was clean and well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. We fixed all our meals there and literally just brought our food. It had every utensil and pot and pan type that we needed. It had plates, cutlery, bowls, glasses, serving bowls, etc. for as many people as the house can sleep, and that is a lot! The dining table seats 14 people comfortably. The rooms are big enough that a crowd can gather to visit or play games, yet the bedroom are situated so each room can be a quiet retreat if that is what you need. The check out procedure was the easiest ever. We enjoyed a play at the Tuacahn Theater which is only about 15 minutes away and the amazing Red Rock Desert Garden that is less than 5 minutes away. The Mormon Pioneer sites are also very interesting and beautifully kept. We would definitely recommend the Whitehead House to our friends and family.

So comfortable...simply perfect!

Our daughter was having a destination wedding in St George. We wanted a house that would accommodate our family plus all the bridesmaids and spouses. When we found the Whitehead House, we knew it would be perfect. With six ensuite bedrooms, no one had to share a bath which was really nice. The house can accommodate many more people than we had, but we did take advantage of the spacious kitchen/great room, dining room, and patio with the entire wedding party and friends coming by for dinner and just hanging out after the wedding. The house is so perfectly located...right in the center of the historical district, within walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, parks, trails, and it was only a 10 minute drive to our wedding venue. The house is beautifully furnished, even essentials such as shampoo and basic kitchen spices and ingredients. The owner was so responsive and accommodating to our every need. Her response was immediate to every question. We would definitely stay at the Whitehead House again and hope we have the opportunity!

Great House!

We stayed at this house in August for a family vacation with my husband's family. We had a great time at this house! All the rooms were really nice and the ADA accessible room was the highlight for my husband's grandma. I personally loved the jetted tub. It was fun being in the historic district and it was in a great location so there was plenty to do. Rosana was great to work with and I would recommend this house to anyone that wants plenty of room when going to St George.

My favorite VRBO experience!

I try to make a habit out of staying with VRBO properties whenever I can. So I know what one is looking for in a review before booking, and I'm here to give it to you. This house was absolutely perfect for our last minute family reunion of sorts. The photos don't do justice to the charm of the property. I was a little worried about the age of the house combining with the temperature that St. George can have, but the air conditioning worked great and was well planned out to provide comfort all through out the house. The parking for the property was amazing and to say the location was ideal is an understatement. The house was fully equipped with everything we could ever need, especially in the kitchen. I loved that there were generous spices that we could use and everything was tidily placed and still left us room to store our food and belongings in cupboards. There was plenty of games and activities to entertain us, but mostly we sat around and visited and never felt crowded or on top of each other. If you aren't sure if the house will have the items on hand, just email the owner. I was so happy to see a porta-crib, a high chair, laundry detergent, and other bathroom toiletries that hotels offer. In the future I know I can minimize how much we pack because the house provides so much. The owner is hands down my favorite I've ever worked with. She didn't nickel and dime us and have hidden fees and charges. The cleaning fee was completely reasonable and didn't require any extra efforts on our part. Sometimes the nightly rate seems affordable, but they get ya once you go to pay the bill with a long list of additional expenses. All of us were completely tickled with the time we spent at the Whitehouse and felt like this was money and time well spent for us to gather together. I will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful place to stay!

I must say we had a wonderful time at this St George home. The house is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to move around. Plenty of bathrooms and TVs, and a ping pong table that caught the eye of several of my grandchildren. We gathered here for a birthday celebration get-away with children and grandchildren and everyone was very comfortable and had a great time. If you have a chance this is truly a great place to stay!

Perfect Vacation Home!!

We've stayed quite a few times in St. George, though this was our first time at the Whitehead Home. The Whitehead Home was perfect for our vacation, and absolutely beautiful! The home is updated throughout and the homeowners have gone the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. We had 13 people staying in the home and we had plenty of space to hang out together or to have our individual space. We loved walking around the historic district, with art galleries, great restaurants, cool parks, etc. This was by far our best stay in St. George! I highly recommend the Whitehead Home!

A most beautiful historical home, so neat and clean

We enjoyed the nice furnishings and spacious kitchen, room for 20 or so guests. Amble bathrooms and pretty bed room decorum . The beds were very comfortable they said. The game room was a hit with the grandkids. Everyone thought it was the perfect place to stay and just visit with each other and enjoy the cool comfortable atmosphere of the home. There was mentioned to do this again. So high fives for the owners that see and took care of all the nessities and little pleasures for their guests. We the Cheal's Had a very good experience at the Whitehouse for three days and nights. Thanks, Joyce

Wonderful spot for a family reunion!

We had a great time staying at the Whitehead House over the 4th of July. We had 5 families staying for a family reunion, and we had a positive experience from the time we first inquiried about the property. The owners were great to work with, there was plenty of space for 9 adults and 11 kids, and we loved the charm and character of the home. It is historic yet updated, and we loved having so many bathrooms! We could all be together and have our privacy as well. The location is fabulous! We simply can't say enough good things about the home. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Wonderful House, Perfect Location

Everything was as advertised, in fact better. We held a family reunion with 20, all were comfortable, and the level of privacy for each of the families was beyond our expectation. We had a great time, staying during a hot spell, the house was perfect, relaxing, inviting, and comfortable. Highly recommend you stay in the Whitehead house, so much to do in St. George, hike, bike, and sights to see. Our favorite was the Tuachan Theater. The grandchildren loved dinosaur tracks, which was inside; and the down town park with water works, consisting of a wading river and a splash pad, a short walk from the house. One of our grandchildren blurted out when they got home, "I want to go to the other house!" I can not think of a better recommendation. We are going to stay again!!

Great house in a great location

A group of friends from the mid-west spent 9 days at Whitehead house and could not be more pleased. There were plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms, plus plenty of room for relaxation. We spent a lot of time out on the patio. The house is only 2 blocks from great restaurants and the downtown area. Easy access to the main streets (St George BLVD and Bluffs St), both which can take you to the interstate. Close to grocery store. We were 'adventure seekers' which involved driving to hike, mountain bike, ATV and horseback ride. It was nice to get back from a day's adventure and be able to bop into the grocery store or walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to a friend.

Perfection in St. G

Absolutely loved staying at the Whitehead property, aside from it's meticulous care, the location couldn't have been better. Couple this with Mrs. Sorensen's detailed communication and hospitable nature, as annual participants in the Ironman 70.3 St. George, this will be our "home away from home" for as long as we have the ability to keep racing.
